We consider the metric space of all toric K\"ahler metrics on a compact toric manifold; when "looking at it from infinity" (following Gromov), we obtain the tangent cone at infinity, which is parametrized by equivalence classes of complete geodesics. In the present paper, we study the associated limit for the family of metrics on the toric variety, its quantization, and degeneration of generic divisors. The limits of the corresponding K\"ahler polarizations become degenerate along the Lagrangian fibration defined by the moment map. This allows us to interpolate continuously between geometric quantizations in the holomorphic and real polarizations and show that the monomial holomorphic sections of the prequantum bundle converge to Dirac delta distributions supported on Bohr-Sommerfeld fibers. In the second part, we use these families of toric metric degenerations to study the limit of compact hypersurface amoebas and show that in Legendre transformed variables they are described by tropical amoebas. We believe that our approach gives a different, complementary, perspective on the relation between complex algebraic geometry and tropical geometry.

We consider Mabuchi rays of toric K\"ahler structures on symplectic toric manifolds which are associated to toric test configurations and that are generated by convex functions on themoment polytope, $P$, whose second derivative has support given by a compact subset $K<P$. Associated to the test configuration there is a polyhedral decomposition of $P$ whose components are approximated by the components of $P \setminus K$. Along such Mabuchi rays, the toric complex structure r...

We study the half-form Kaehler quantization of a smooth symplectic toric manifold $(X,\omega)$, such that $[\omega/2\pi]-c_{1}(X)/2 \in H^{2}(X,{\mathbb{Z}})$ and is nonnegative. We define the half-form corrected quantization of $(X,\omega)$ to be given by holomorphic sections of a certain hermitian line bundle $L\rightarrow X$ with Chern class $[\omega/ 2\pi]-c_{1}(X)/2$. These sections then correspond to integral points of a "corrected" polytope $P_{L}$ with integral vertic...

Geodesics on the infinite dimensional symmetric space $\hcal$ of K\"ahler metrics in a fixed K\"ahler class on a projective K\"ahler manifold X are solutions of a homogeneous complex Monge-Amp\`ere equation in $X \times A$, where $A \subset \C$ is an annulus. They are analogues of 1PS (one-parameter subgroups) on symmetric spaces $G_{\C}/G$. Donaldson, Arezzo-Tian and Phong-Sturm raised the question whether Monge-Amp\`ere geodesics can be approximated by 1PS geodesics in the ...

This is a continuation of paper \cite{Li}. On any toric Fano manifold, we discuss the behavior of limit metric of a sequence of metrics, which are solutions to a continuity family of complex Monge-Ampere equations in Kahler-Einstein problem. We show that the limit metric satisfies a singular complex Monge-Ampere equation. This shows the conic type singularity for the limit metric. The information of conic type singularities can be read from the geometry of the moment polytope...

Let $\{V_q\}_{q}$ be a complex one-parameter family of smooth hypersurfaces in a toric variety. In this paper, we give a concrete description of the monodromy transformation of $\{V_q\}_q$ around $q=\infty$ in terms of tropical geometry. The main tool is the tropical localization introduced by Mikhalkin.

This survey consists of two parts. Part 1 is devoted to amoebas. These are images of algebraic subvarieties in the complex torus under the logarithmic moment map. The amoebas have essentially piecewise-linear shape if viewed at large. Furthermore, they degenerate to certain piecewise-linear objects called tropical varieties whose behavior is governed by algebraic geometry over the so-called tropical semifield. Geometric aspects of tropical algebraic geometry are the content o...

In this paper we construct a family of complex structures on a complex flag manifold that converge to the real polarization coming from the Gelfand-Cetlin integrable system, in the sense that holomorphic sections of a prequantum line bundle converge to delta-function sections supported on the Bohr-Sommerfeld fibers. Our construction is based on a toric degeneration of flag varieties and a deformation of K\"ahler structure on toric varieties by symplectic potentials.

Let $X$ be a smooth irreducible complex algebraic variety of dimension $n$ and $L$ a very ample line bundle on $X$. Given a toric degeneration of $(X,L)$ satisfying some natural technical hypotheses, we construct a deformation $\{J_s\}$ of the complex structure on $X$ and bases $\mathcal{B}_s$ of $H^0(X,L, J_s)$ so that $J_0$ is the standard complex structure and, in the limit as $s \to \infty$, the basis elements approach dirac-delta distributions centered at Bohr-Sommerfeld...

On a compact symplectic manifold $(X,\omega)$ with a prequantum line bundle $(L,\nabla,h)$, we consider the one-parameter family of $\omega$-compatible complex structures which converges to the real polarization coming from the Lagrangian torus fibration. There are several researches which show that the holomorphic sections of the line bundle localize at Bohr-Sommerfeld fibers. In this article we consider the one-parameter family of the Riemannian metrics on the frame bundle ...

In this paper we continue to study Gromov-Hausdorff limits of Kahler manifolds and algebraic geometry. Our main focus is on the algebro-geometric meaning of Riemannian tangent cones and rescaled limits.
