We define in an axiomatic fashion a \emph{Coxeter datum} for an arbitrary Coxeter group $W$. This Coxeter datum will specify a pair of reflection representations of $W$ in two vector spaces linked only by a bilinear paring without any integrality and non-degeneracy requirements. These representations are not required to be embeddings of $W$ in the orthogonal group of any vector space, and they give rise to a pair of inter-related root systems generalizing the classical root s...

Clifford algebras are used for constructing spin groups, and are therefore of particular importance in the theory of quantum mechanics. But the spin group is not the only subgroup of the Clifford algebra. An algebraist's perspective on these groups and algebras may suggest ways in which they might be applied more widely to describe the fundamental properties of matter. I do not claim to build a physical theory on top of the fundamental algebra, and my suggestions for possible...

When the standard representation of a crystallographic Coxeter group $\Gamma$ is reduced modulo an odd prime $p$, a finite representation in some orthogonal space over $\mathbb{Z}_p$ is obtained. If $\Gamma$ has a string diagram, the latter group will often be the automorphism group of a finite regular polytope. In Part I we described the basics of this construction and enumerated the polytopes associated with the groups of rank 3 and the groups of spherical or Euclidean type...

In this paper we present novel $ADE$ correspondences by combining an earlier induction theorem of ours with one of Arnold's observations concerning Trinities, and the McKay correspondence. We first extend Arnold's indirect link between the Trinity of symmetries of the Platonic solids $(A_3, B_3, H_3)$ and the Trinity of exceptional 4D root systems $(D_4, F_4, H_4)$ to an explicit Clifford algebraic construction linking the two ADE sets of root systems $(I_2(n), A_1\times I_2(...

We introduce a technique of projection onto the Coxeter plane of an arbitrary higher dimensional lattice described by the affine Coxeter group. The Coxeter plane is determined by the simple roots of the Coxeter graph I2 (h) where h is the Coxeter number of the Coxeter group W(G) which embeds the dihedral group Dh of order 2h as a maximal subgroup. As a simple application we demonstrate projections of the root and weight lattices of A4 onto the Coxeter plane using the strip (c...

In this paper we further develop the method of quaternion typification of Clifford algebra elements suggested by the author in the previous papers. On the basis of new classification of Clifford algebra elements it is possible to find out and prove a number of new properties of Clifford algebra. In particular, we find subalgebras and Lie subalgebras of Clifford algebra and subalgebras of the Lie algebra of the pseudo-unitary Lie group.

In this Master of Science Thesis I introduce geometric algebra both from the traditional geometric setting of vector spaces, and also from a more combinatorial view which simplifies common relations and operations. This view enables us to define Clifford algebras with scalars in arbitrary rings and provides new suggestions for an infinite-dimensional approach. Furthermore, I give a quick review of classic results regarding geometric algebras, such as their classification in...

In this paper we construct the quasi regular polyhedra and their duals which are the generalizations of the Archimedean and Catalan solids respectively. This work is an extension of two previous papers of ours which were based on the Archimedean and Catalan solids obtained as the orbits of the Coxeter groups . When these groups act on an arbitrary vector in 3D Euclidean space they generate the orbits corresponding to the quasi regular polyhedra. Special choices of the vectors...

In this paper, we introduce and study five families of Lie groups in degenerate Clifford geometric algebras. These Lie groups preserve the even and odd subspaces and some other subspaces under the adjoint representation and the twisted adjoint representation. The considered Lie groups contain degenerate spin groups, Lipschitz groups, and Clifford groups as subgroups in the case of arbitrary dimension and signature. The considered Lie groups can be of interest for various appl...

We study Coxeter diagrams of some unitary reflection groups. Using solely the combinatorics of diagrams, we give a new proof of the classification of root lattices defined over $\cE = \ZZ[e^{2 \pi i/3}]$: there are only four such lattices, namely, the $\cE$-lattices whose real forms are $A_2$, $D_4$, $E_6$ and $E_8$. Next, we address the issue of characterizing the diagrams for unitary reflection groups, a question that was raised by Brou\'{e}, Malle and Rouquier. To this end...
