Several Multi-Agent System (MAS) metamodels and languages have been proposed in the literature to support the development of agent-based applications. MAS metamodels are used to capture a collection of concepts the relevant entities and relationships in the MAS domain, which include entities such as agent, message, role, action and plan, and relationships that represent, for example, that a role is responsible for one or more tasks. In addition, to models, MAS modeling langua...

This paper presents a scalable decentralized multi agent framework that facilitates the exchange of information between computing units through computer networks. The architectural boundaries imposed by the tool make it suitable for collective intelligence research experiments ranging from agents that exchange hello world messages to virtual drone agents exchanging positions and eventually agents exchanging information via radio with real Crazyflie drones in VU Amsterdam labo...

Mobile agents represent a new model for network computing. Many different languages have been used to implement mobile agents. The characteristics that make a language useful for writing mobile agents are: (1) their support of agent migration, (2) their support for agent-to-agent communication, (3) how they allow agents to interact with local resources, (4) security mechanisms, (5) execution efficiency, (6) language implementation across multiple platforms, and (7) the langua...

Systems integration is a difficult matter particularly when its components are varied. The problem becomes even more difficult when such components are heterogeneous such as humans, robots and software systems. Currently, the humans are regarded as users of artificial systems (robots and software systems). This has several disadvantages such as: (1) incoherence of artificial systems exploitation where humans' roles are not clear and (2) vain research of a user's universal mod...

This project, named HEnRY, aims to introduce a Multi-Agent System (MAS) into Intesa Sanpaolo. The name HEnRY summarizes the project's core principles: the Hierarchical organization of agents in a layered structure for efficient resource management; Efficient optimization of resources and operations to enhance overall performance; Reactive ability of agents to quickly respond to environmental stimuli; and Yielding adaptability and flexibility of agents to handle unexpected sit...

This paper presents a proposal for a flexible agent mobility architecture based on IEEE-FIPA standards and intended to be one of them. This proposal is a first step towards interoperable mobility mechanisms, which are needed for future agent migration between different kinds of platforms. Our proposal is presented as a flexible and robust architecture that has been successfully implemented in the JADE and AgentScape platforms. It is based on an open set of protocols, allowing...

Large Intelligent Systems are so complex these days that an urgent need for designing such systems in best available way is evolving. Modeling is the useful technique to show a complex real world system into the form of abstraction, so that analysis and implementation of the intelligent system become easy and is useful in gathering the prior knowledge of system that is not possible to experiment with the real world complex systems. This paper discusses a formal approach of ag...

We present initial ideas for a programming paradigm based on simulation that is targeted towards applications of artificial intelligence (AI). The approach aims at integrating techniques from different areas of AI and is based on the idea that simulated entities may freely exchange data and behavioural patterns. We define basic notions of a simulation-based programming paradigm and show how it can be used for implementing AI applications.

A new approach to software design based on an agent-oriented architecture is presented. Unlike current research, we consider software to be designed and implemented with this methodology in mind. In this approach agents are considered adaptively communicating concurrent modules which are divided into a white box module responsible for the communications and learning, and a black box which is the independent specialized processes of the agent. A distributed Learning policy is ...
