The Tevatron Run II will provide CDF and D0 with a large dataset of ppbar interactions collected at sqrt(s)=2 TeV. We discuss the opportunity for the two experiments to improve the understanding of electrowek and top physics in the first years of data taking (Run IIa,2fb-1) in view of the upgrades of the detectors. We also discuss the prospectives for a Higgs discovery at the Tevatron in view of the Run IIb data taking period which will deliver an additional of about 13fb-1 t...

The motivations for studying dynamical scenarios of electroweak and flavor symmetry breaking are reviewed and the latest ideas, especially topcolor-assisted technicolor, are summarized. Several technicolor signatures at the Tevatron and Large Hadron Collider are described and it is emphasized that all of them are well within the reach of these colliders. (This is the written version of a plenary talk of this title at the 28th International Conference on High Energy Physics, W...

Dynamical symmetry breaking provides a possible solution to the electroweak hierarchy problem. It requires new strong interactions that are effective at some high-energy scale. If there is no light Higgs boson, this scale is constrained to be in the TeV range, and signals of the new interactions can be observed, directly or indirectly, in collider experiments. Even if no observable states in the Higgs sector are kinematically accessible, a Linear Collider will cover the low-e...

This is the first of two reports cataloging the principal signatures of electroweak and flavor dynamics at $\pbarp$ and $pp$ colliders. Here, we discuss some of the signatures of dynamical elecroweak and flavor symmetry breaking. The framework for dynamical symmetry breaking we assume is technicolor, with a walking coupling $\alpha_{TC}$, and extended technicolor. The reactions discussed occur mainly at subprocess energies $\sqrt{\hat s} \simle 1 TeV$. They include production...

The latest results in electroweak physics from proton anti-proton collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron recorded by the CDF detector are presented. The results provide constraints on parton distribution functions, the mass of the Higgs boson and beyond the Standard Model physics.

We discuss the phenomenology of models of dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking which attempt to generate the observed fermion mass spectrum. After briefly describing the variety of and constraints on proposed models, we concentrate on the signatures of colored pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons and resonances at existing and proposed colliders. These particles provide a possibly unique signature: strongly produced resonances associated with electroweak symmetry breaking. (This ...

What kind of New Physics, if any, we expect to discover at the LHC? I will try to address this formidable question by re-formulating it as follows: is the breaking of the electroweak symmetry strong or weak ?

The recent announcement of a discovery of a possible Higgs-like particle -its spin and parity is yet to be determined- at the LHC with a mass of 126 GeV necessitates a fresh look at the nature of the electroweak symmetry breaking, in particular if this newly-discovered particle will turn out to have the quantum numbers of a Standard Model Higgs boson. Even if it were a $0^+$ scalar with the properties expected for a SM Higgs boson, there is still the quintessential hierarchy ...

This report summarises the physics opportunities for the study of Higgs bosons and the dynamics of electroweak symmetry breaking at the 100 TeV pp collider.

After briefly remarking on alternatives for breaking the electroweak symmetry, I discuss the implication that recent precision experiments at LEP have for the symmetry breaking sector. The difficulties associated with generating fermion masses when the electroweak symmetry is broken dynamically are exposed and an alternative to the walking technicolor - extended technicolor scenario is suggested, based on models of substructure. Failures and lessons from trying to incorporate...
