Some topics in heavy-quark physics

We provide a brief overview of some current experimental and theoretical issues of heavy quark production.

This review presents an overview of the remarkable progress in the field of heavy-quark exotic hadrons over the past 15 years. It seeks to be pedagogical rather than exhaustive, summarizing both the progress and specific results of experimental discoveries, and the variety of theoretical approaches designed to explain these new states.

I discuss the theory of heavy baryon spectroscopy, emphasizing predictions which follow from light and heavy quark symmetries.

The paper introduces the selection of new results on heavy flavours presented at the QCD and High Energy Interactions section of the XLIIIth ``Rencontres de Moriond'' conference.

I review the status of the modern theoretical approach to weak decays of heavy flavor hadrons based on the 1/m_Q expansion in QCD.
