The heavy quark-antiquark potential in perturbative QCD is subject to ambiguities. We show how to derive a well-defined and stable short-distance potential that can be matched to results from lattice QCD simulations at intermediate distances. The static potential as well as the order 1/m potential are discussed.

I will discuss recent developments in lattice studies of hadrons composed of heavy quarks. I will mostly cover topics which are at a state of direct comparison with experiment, but will also discuss new ideas and promising techniques to aid future studies of lattice heavy quark physics.

In this talk I briefly review the recent progress in calculation of the high order corrections to the parameters of the nonrelativistic heavy quark-antiquark system in the effective theory approach.

Lattice QCD results relevant to heavy quark physics are reviewed. In particular new results will be shown that, for the first time, include dynamical quarks in the QCD vacuum which are close enough to being realistic to allow accurate extrapolation to the physical point. Agreement with experiment is found for a wide range of spectral quantities and the implications of this for hadronic matrix elements needed for the extraction of CKM elements from B factory experiments is dis...

We study charmonia correlators at finite temperature. We analyze to what extent heavy quarkonia correlators are sensitive to the effect of heavy quark transport and whether it is possible to constrain the heavy quark diffusion constant by lattice calculations. Preliminary lattice calculations of quarkonia correlators performed on anisotropic lattices show that they are sensitive to the effect of heavy quark transport, but much detailed calculations are required to constrain t...

Quarkonia are golden probes of heavy ion collisions that have attracted much attention from both experimental and theoretical perspectives. This paper will review recent theoretical studies on quarkonium thermal properties, with a particular focus on the heavy quark finite-temperature potential obtained by Lattice QCD and other approaches. Moreover, it will examine the advancements in the real-time evolution of quarkonia in heavy ion collisions.

After reviewing the definition of the heavy quark-antiquark potential in pNRQCD, we discuss recent advances in the calculation.

The QCD-coupling is a necessary input in the computation of many observables, and the parametric error on input parameters can be a dominant source of uncertainty. The coupling can be extracted by comparing high order perturbative computations and lattice evaluated moments of mesonic two-point functions with heavy quarks, which provide a high energy scale for perturbation theory. The truncation of the perturbative series is an important systematic uncertainty. We report on ou...
