We discuss the extension of the superflavor symmetry of doubly heavy baryons to states which contain an excited heavy diquark, and we examine some of the consequences of this symmetry for the spectra of doubly heavy baryons and heavy mesons. We explore the ramifications of a proposed symmetry that relates heavy diquarks to doubly heavy mesons. We present a method for determining how the excitation energy of a system containing two heavy quarks will scale as one changes the st...

Using phenomenological formulae, we can deduce the rest masses and intrinsic quantum numbers (I, S, C, B and Q) of quarks, baryons and mesons from only one unflavored elementary quark family. The deduced quantum numbers match experimental results exactly, and the deduced rest masses are 98.5% (or 97%) consistent with experimental results for baryons (or mesons). This paper predicts some quarks [d_{S}(773), d_{S}(1933) and u_{C}(6073)], baryons [$\Lambda_{c}(6599)$, $\Lambda_{...

Prompted by the recent surprising results in QCD spectroscopy, we extend to heavy flavors the hadron mass relations showing that the constituent quark mass differences and ratios have the same values when obtained from mesons and baryons. We obtain several new successful relations involving heavy quarks and provide some related predictions. We discuss in detail the apparent sharp decrease in m_s and m_c, when a light partner quark in a meson is replaced by a heavy one and con...

Simple and plausible rules are used to correlate the masses of the ground-state baryons containing single heavy ($b$ or $c$) quarks. A comparison with the experimental data shows that the observed mass difference between the $\Sigma_b$ and the $\Sigma^*_b$ is unexpectedly large. Predictions for the masses of the yet undiscovered heavy baryons are given.

The resonance mass spectra have been studied through a non-relativistic hypercentral Constituent Quark Model (hCQM) using a linear potential. Also, the effects of higher order correction terms (${\cal{O}}(\frac{1}{m})$, ${\cal{O}}(\frac{1}{m^{2}})$) have been studied for improvisation of the results. Other baryonic properties such as Regge trajectories, magnetic moment and decay widths have been considered. A detailed comparison with other approaches are discussed in the pres...

Magnetic moments of baryons in the ground-state octet and decuplet are calculated in a light-front framework. We investigate the effects of quark mass variation both in the current operator and in the wavefunctions. A simple fit uses single oscillator wavefunctions for the baryons and allows the three flavors of quark to have nonzero anomalous magnetic moments. We find a good fit to the data without allowing for strange quark contributions to the nucleon moments. A slightly b...

We describe the relativistic interacting quark-diquark model formalism and its application to the calculation of strange and nonstrange baryon spectra. The results are compared to the existing experimental data. We also discuss the application of the model to the calculation of other baryon observables, like baryon magnetic moments, open-flavor strong decays and baryon masses with self-energy corrections.

From only two elementary quarks ($\epsilon_{u}(0) $ and $\epsilon_{d}(0)) $ and the symmetries of the regular rhombic dodecahedron, using phenomenological formulae, we deduced the rest masses and the intrinsic quantum numbers (I, S, C, b and Q) of a quark spectrum. The five ground quarks of the four kinds of the deduced quarks are the five quarks of the current quark model. Then, from the quark spectrum, using sum laws and a phenomenological binding energy formula, we deduced...

Speculating that the $ud$ diquark with spin 0 has a similar mass to the constituent $s$ quark, we introduce a symmetry between the $s$ quark and the $\overline{ud}$ diquark. Constructing an algebra for this symmetry, we regard a triplet of the $s$ quarks with spin up and down and the $\overline{ud}$ diquark with spin 0 as a fundamental representation of this algebra. We further build higher representations constructed by direct products of the fundamental representations. We ...

We find remarkable agreement with the observed excitations of hadrons with a simple three parameter mass relation of the SU(3) subgroup of the underlying U(15/30) graded Lie group. The baryons are the appropriate supersymmetric partners of the mesons. An interesting feature, which is a focus of current interest, is that the baryons and isobars show parity doubling. Significantly, the ground state baryons and mesons have no place in the fit, so that the parity doubling is indi...
