We consider mechanism for one-spin asymmetries observed in inclusive hadron production. The main role belongs to the orbital angular momentum of the quark-antiquark cloud in the internal structure of constituent quarks. We argue that the origin of the asymmetries in pion production is a result of retaining of this internal angular orbital momentum by the perturbative phase of QCD under transition from the non-perturbative phase. The non-perturbative hadron structure is based on the results of chiral quark models. PACS number(s): 11.30.Qc, 12.40.Pp, 13.75.Ni, 13.88.+e

We discuss a nonperturbative mechanism for one-spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production. The main role in generation of this asymmetry belongs to the orbital angular momentum of quark-antiquark cloud in internal structure of constituent quarks.

On the basis of the mechanism proposed for one-spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production we specify an $x$--dependence of asymmetries in inclusive processes of pion production. The main role in generation of this asymmetry belongs to the orbital angular momentum ofquark-antiquark cloud in internal structure of constituent quarks. The $x$--dependence of asymmetries in the charged pion production at large $x$ reflects the corresponding dependence of constituent quark pola...

We discuss a nonperturbative mechanism for generation of the single-spin asymmetries in hadron interactions. It is based on the chiral quark model combined with unitarity and impact parameter picture and provides explanation for the experimental regularities observed under the measurements of the spin asymmetries.

The universality of single-spin asymmetry on inclusive pi-meson production is discussed. This universality can be related to the hadron substructure - constituent quarks.

The general formalism to describe single spin asymmetries in hadron-hadron high energy and large $p_T$ inclusive production within the QCD-improved parton model and assuming the factorization theorem to hold for higher twist contributions is discussed. Non zero values of the single spin asymmetries originate from and reveal non perturbative universal properties of quarks: the quark distribution and fragmentation analysing powers, which need not be zero, provided the quark int...

It is shown how the single spin asymmetry observed in inclusive pion production is related, in the helicity basis, to the imaginary part of the product of two different distribution amplitudes, rather than to the usual quark and gluon distribution functions; there is then no reason why it should be zero even in massless perturbative QCD, provided the quark intrinsic motion is taken into account. A simple model is constructed which reproduces the main features of the data.

Within the QCD-improved parton model and assuming the factorization theorem to hold in the helicity basis and for higher twist contributions, we show how non zero single spin asymmetries in hadron-hadron high energy and moderately large $p_T$ inclusive processes can be obtained, even in massless perturbative QCD, provided the quark intrinsic motion is taken into account. A simple model is constructed which reproduces the main features of the data on the single spin asymmetry ...

The universality of single-spin asymmetry on inclusive $\pi$-meson production is discussed. This universality can be related to the hadron substructure -- constituent quarks in the frame of the quark model for U-matrix.

We study a possible origin of single spin asymmetries in the large $p_T$ inclusive production of hadrons in the scattering of unpolarized protons or leptons on transversely polarized nucleons. Such asymmetry is related to the single-spin asymmetry for the process $\p^\uparrow \to q+X$ or, equivalently, to the off-diagonal matrix element of the quark density operator $\bar \psi \gamma^+ \psi$; this quantity need not be zero if transverse momentum and spin-isospin interactions ...

A consistent phenomenological approach to the computation of transverse single spin asymmetries in inclusive hadron production is presented, based on the assumed generalization of the QCD factorization theorem to the case in which quark intrinsic motion is taken into account. New k_T and spin dependent quark distribution and fragmentation functions are considered: some of them are fixed by fitting data on p(transv. polarized) + p -> pion + X and predictions are given for sing...
