As the LHC becomes a top-quark factory and enters the era of precision measurements it presents us with a unique opportunity to search for new sources of CP violation. I discuss T-odd triple product correlations and the special role they play in the search for CP violation in top physics. I motivate the searches by discussing two examples of new physics that induce these CP violating observables at the LHC.

In this talk I review how to search for CP violation in top-quark pair production and decay using T-odd correlations. I discuss two examples which illustrate many of the relevant features: CP violation in a heavy neutral Higgs boson; and CP violating anomalous top-quark couplings. I present some numerical results for the LHC and some for the Tevatron.

In this study, we explore the effects of $\mathcal CP$-violating anomalous interactions of the top-quark through the semileptonic decay modes of the top-quark arising due to pair-production of $t\bar{t}$ at the Large Hardon Collider. Predictions on the LHC sensitivities of the coupling strength to such $\mathcal CP$-violating interactions would be discussed for the 13 TeV LHC data and for the future hadron collider with 14 TeV energy.

We consider a general two-Higgs-doublet model with CP violation in the scalar sector. Three neutral Higgs fields of the model all mix and the resulting physical Higgs bosons have no definite CP properties. That leads, at the one-loop level of the perturbation expansion, to CP-violating form factors for gamma-t-tbar, Z-t-tbar and W-t-b interaction vertices. We discuss asymmetries sensitive to CP violation induced by the form factors for the process e^+ e^- -> t tbar -> l^\pm ....

We investigate possible CP violating effects in $e^+e^-$ annihilation into top quark pairs. One of the interesting observable effects is the difference in production rates between the two CP conjugate polarized states $t_L\bar t_L$ and $t_R\bar t_R$. The result is an asymmetry in the energy spectra of the lepton and the anti-lepton from the heavy quark decays. Another CP-odd observable is the up-down asymmetry of the leptons with respect to the reaction plane. These two asymm...

We investigate for two-Higgs doublet models with intrinsic CP violation in the scalar potential CP-nonconserving effects in unpolarized $\gamma \gamma \rightarrow t \bar{t} $ for a range of neutral Higgs boson masses which includes resonant $\varphi$ production and the subsequent decay of $\varphi \rightarrow t \bar{t}$. The importance of taking into account, even in the resonant case, the interference with the nonresonant background is shown. Further, we propose and calculat...

Electroweak dipole moments of the top quark are conjectured and their effect in polarized $e^+e^-$ collisions is examined for the expectation values of two different $CP$-odd observables. One of these observables probes the real part of the dipole moments whereas the other probes their imaginary part. It turns out that varying the polarization of the electron beam substantially enhances the resolving power of the experiment. PostScript version: preprints/mpi9454.ps from gluon...

In the presence of an electric dipole coupling of t-tbar to a photon, and an analogous "weak" dipole coupling to the Z, CP violation in the process e+e- --> t tbar results in modified polarization of the top and anti-top. This polarization can be analyzed by studying the angular distributions of decay charged leptons when the top or anti-top decays leptonically. Analytic expressions are presented for these distributions when either t or tbar decays leptonically, including O(a...

We study two simple $CP$-violating asymmetries of leptons coming from the decay of $t$ and $\o t$ in $e^+e^- \ra \tt$, which do not need the full reconstruction of the $t$ or $\o t$ for their measurement. They can arise when the top quark possesses nonzero electric and weak dipole form factors in the couplings to the photon and $Z$, respectively. Together, these two asymmetries can help to determine the electric and weak dipole form factors independently. If longitudinal beam...

CP-violating asymmetries due to a possible electric dipole interaction of the top quark in the production and subsequent decay of top quark-top antiquark pair in photon-photon collisions are studied. The asymmetries defined can be used to determine the imaginary part of the electric dipole form factors. A gamma-gamma collider with photon beams generated from laser back-scattering off electron beams with an integrated geometric luminosity of 20 fb^{-1} can put a limit of the o...
