This review summarizes recent experimental and theoretical progress in determining neutrino mixing angles and masses through neutrino oscillations. We describe the basic physics of oscillation phenomena in vacuum and matter, as well as the status of solar, reactor, atmospheric, and accelerator neutrino experiments that probe these phenomena. The results from current global analyses of neutrino parameters are given. Future efforts that may improve the precision with which thes...

We argue that the evidence for neutrino mass is quite compelling. This mass raises a number of questions, which we enumerate, about neutrinos. Then we focus on one of these questions---the issue of the possible neutrino mass spectra. In particular, we explain that one can have a four-neutrino spectrum which does not require significant sterile-neutrino involvement in either the atmospheric or solar neutrino oscillations.

In these two lectures I describe first the theory of neutrino mass and then discuss the implications of recent data (including 708--day data Super--Kamiokande data) which strongly indicate the need for neutrino conversions to account for the solar and atmospheric neutrino observations. I also mention the LSND data, which provides an intriguing hint. The simplest ways to reconcile all these data in terms of neutrino oscillations invoke a light sterile neutrino in addition to t...

Our knowledge of the neutrino sector of the Standard Model has recently undergone a revolution. Deficits of the atmospheric muon neutrino flux and the solar electron neutrino flux compared to their predicted values can be understood in terms of neutrino oscillations and we can therefore infer that neutrinos have non-degenerate masses. Additional but somewhat less secure evidence for \bar\nu_\mu \to \bar\nu_e and \nu_\mu\to\nu_e oscillations has been found in the LSND accelera...

The physics of neutrino oscillation is summarized, and then the results of oscillation experiments, including the most recent results, are discussed. The possibility that neutrinos are their own antiparticles is examined. What we have learned so far about the neutrinos is reviewed, and the questions to be answered through future experiments are discussed.

After a brief introduction to neutrino mass via the see-saw model I discuss neutrino mixing and oscillation, first in vacuum and then its matter enhancement. Then the solar and atmospheric neutrino oscillation data are briefly reviewed. Finally I discuss the problem of reconciling hierarchical neutrino masses with at least one large mixing, as implied by these data. A minimal see-saw model for reconciling the two is discussed.

We propose simple phenomenological lepton mass matrices which describe the three neutrinos almost degenerate in mass, leading to a very large mixing angle between $\nu_\mu$ and $\nu_\tau$, as consistent with a recent report on atmospheric neutrino oscillation from the Superkamiokande collaboration. Our matrix model also gives $\nu_e-\nu_\mu$ mixing in agreement with the value required for neutrino oscillation to explain the solar neutrino problem.

This article reviews the many new results from neutrino oscillation searches which were presented at ICHEP '98. Exciting indications of neutrino oscillations have been seen in the solar neutrino deficit, atmospheric neutrino deficit and LSND excess. These indications and reported limits on oscillations are considered. Attempts to develop a theory which addresses all of the neutrino oscillation data are discussed. Some of the remaining questions and the future experiments whic...
