We use the anti-de Sitter (AdS) conformal field theory correspondence to calculate the conserved charges and the Euclidean actions of the charged rotating black string in four dimensions both in the canonical and the grand-canonical ensemble. The four-dimensional solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations with a positive cosmological constant is introduced, and its conserved quantities and actions for fixed charge and fixed electric potential are calculated. We also study the...

We show that the general framework proposed in arXiv:1410.0581 for the study of asymptotically flat vacuum black objects with $k+1$ equal magnitude angular momenta in $D\geq 5$ spacetime dimensions (with $0\leq k\leq \big[\frac{D-5}{2} \big]$) can be extended to the case of Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton (EMd) theory. This framework can describe black holes with spherical horizon topology, the simplest solutions corresponding to a class of electrically charged (dilatonic) Myers-Per...

We study the equations of black strings in spacetimes of arbitrary dimensions with a negative cosmological constant and construct numerically non uniform black strings solutions. Our results suggest the existence of a localised black hole in asymptotically locally $AdS$ spacetime. We also present evidences for a dependence of the critical dimension on the horizon radius. The critical dimension represents the dimension where the order of the phase transition between uniform and...

We construct a solution of the classical equations of motion arising in the low energy effective field theory for heterotic string theory. This solution describes a black hole in four dimensions carrying mass $M$, charge $Q$ and angular momentum $J$. The extremal limit of the solution is discussed.

We present two different families of stationary black strings in three dimensions carrying electric and axion charges. Both solutions contain a singular region, which however is quite harmless for string frame geodesic observers, because the solutions are causally geodesically complete. In addition, we exhibit a variety of extremal limits of our solutions, and argue that there must exist a more general family continuously interpolating between them.

We study charged black hole solutions in Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet theory with the dilaton field which is the low-energy effective theory of the heterotic string. The spacetime is D-dimensional and assumed to be static and spherically symmetric with the $(D-2)$-dimensional constant curvature space and asymptotically flat. The system of the basic equations is complex and the solutions are obtained numerically. We identify the allowed parameter region where the black hole solutions...

We present arguments for the existence of charged, rotating black holes with equal magnitude angular momenta in $d=5$ Einstein-Yang-Mills theory with negative cosmological constant. These solutions posses a regular horizon of spherical topology and approach asymptotically the Anti-de Sitter spacetime background. The black hole solutions have also an electric charge and a nonvanishing magnetic flux through the sphere at infinity. Different from the static case, no regular solu...

One of the solutions of Einstein field equation with cylindrical symmetry is known as black string solution. In this work, the rotating black string solution in dRGT massive gravity is obtained and then called rotating-dRGT black string solution. This solution is a kind of generalized version of rotating AdS/dS black sting solution containing an additional two more terms characterizing the structure of graviton mass. The horizon structures of the black string are explored. Th...

We study aspects of four dimensional black holes with two electric charges, corresponding to fundamental strings with generic momentum and winding on an internal circle. The perturbative \alpha' correction to such black holes and their gravitational thermodynamics is obtained.

We study aspects of d-dimensional black holes with two electric charges, corresponding to fundamental strings with generic momentum and winding on an internal circle. The perturbative alpha' corrections to such black holes and their gravitational thermodynamics are obtained. The latter are derived using the Euclidean approach and the Wald formula for the entropy. We find that the entropy and the charge/mass ratio of black holes increase in alpha' for any mass and charges, and...
