We introduce noncommutative algebras $A_q$ of quantum 4-spheres $S^4_q$, with $q\in\IR$, defined via a suspension of the quantum group $SU_q(2)$, and a quantum instanton bundle described by a selfadjoint idempotent $e\in \Mat_4(A_q)$, $e^2=e=e^*$. Contrary to what happens for the classical case or for the noncommutative instanton constructed in Connes-Landi, the first Chern-Connes class $ch_1(e)$ does not vanish thus signaling a dimension drop. The second Chern-Connes class $...

The purpose of the paper is twofold: First, known results of the noncommutative spin geometry of the standard Podles sphere are extended by discussing Poincare duality and orientability. In the discussion of orientability, Hochschild homology is replaced by a twisted version which avoids the dimension drop. The twisted Hochschild cycle representing an orientation is related to the volume form of the distinguished covariant differential calculus. Integration over the volume fo...

Classical differential geometry can be encoded in spectral data, such as Connes' spectral triples, involving supersymmetry algebras. In this paper, we formulate non-commutative geometry in terms of supersymmetric spectral data. This leads to generalizations of Connes' non-commutative spin geometry encompassing non-commutative Riemannian, symplectic, complex-Hermitian and (Hyper-)Kaehler geometry. A general framework for non-commutative geometry is developed from the point of ...

We describe a locally trivial quantum principal U(1)-bundle over the quantum space S^2_{pq} which is a noncommutative analogue of the usual Hopf bundle. We also provide results concerning the structure of its total space algebra (irreducible *-representations and topological K-groups) and its Galois aspects (Galois property, existence of a strong connection, non-cleftness).

There are two $\mathbb Z_2$ orbifolds of the Podle\'s quantum two-sphere, one being the quantum two-disc $D_q$ and other the quantum two-dimensional real projective space $\mathbb RP^2_q$ . In this article we calculate the Hochschild and cyclic homology and cohomology groups of these orbifolds and also the corresponding Chern-Connes indices.

Using the corepresentation of the quantum group $ SL_q(2)$ a general method for constructing noncommutative spaces covariant under its coaction is developed. The method allows us to treat the quantum plane and Podle\'s' quantum spheres in a unified way and to construct higher dimensional noncommutative spaces systematically. Furthermore, we extend the method to the quantum supergroup $ OSp_q(1|2).$ In particular, a one-parameter family of covariant algebras, which may be inte...

We prove a local index formula in conformal geometry by computing the Connes-Chern character for the conformal Dirac (twisted) spectral triple recently constructed by Connes-Moscovici. Following an observation of Moscovici, the computation reduces to the computation of the CM cocycle of an equivariant Dirac (ordinary) spectral triple. This computation is obtained as a straightforward consequence of a new proof of the local equivariant index theorem of Patodi, Donelly-Patodi a...

In a recent paper the quantum 2-sphere $S^2_q$ was described as a quantum complex manifold. Here we consider several copies of $S^2_q$ and derive their braiding commutation relations. The braiding is extended to the differential and to the integral calculus on the spheres. A quantum analogue of the classical anharmonic ratio of four points on the sphere is given, which is invariant under the coaction of $SU_q(2)$.

We give details of the proof of the remark made in \cite{G2} that the Chern characters of the canonical generators on the K homology of the quantum group $SU_q(2)$ are not invariant under the natural $SU_q(2)$ coaction. Furthermore, the conjecture made in \cite{G2} about the nontriviality of the twisted Chern character coming from an odd equivariant spectral triple on $SU_q(2)$ is settled in the affirmative.

We study a three-dimensional differential calculus on the standard Podles quantum two-sphere S^2_q, coming from the Woronowicz 4D+ differential calculus on the quantum group SU_q(2). We use a frame bundle approach to give an explicit description of the space of forms on S^2_q and its associated spin geometry in terms of a natural spectral triple over S^2_q. We equip this spectral triple with a real structure for which the commutant property and the first order condition are s...
