Here we present the reasoning behind, and program to find, the generating functions for the number of permutations in the title. The article duals as the "accompanying" Maple package.

We study the generating function for the number of permutations on n letters containing exactly $r\gs0$ occurences of 132. It is shown that finding this function for a given r amounts to a routine check of all permutations in $S_{2r}$.

We study the generating function for the number of even (or odd) permutations on n letters containing exactly $r\gs0$ occurrences of 132. It is shown that finding this function for a given r amounts to a routine check of all permutations in $S_{2r}$.

We find, in the form of a continued fraction, the generating function for the number of (132)-avoiding permutations that have a given number of (123) patterns, and show how to extend this to permutations that have exactly one (132) pattern. We find some properties of the continued fraction, which is similar to, though more general than, those that were studied by Ramanujan.

Several authors have examined connections between permutations which avoid 132, continued fractions, and Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. In this paper we prove analogues of some of these results for permutations which avoid 1243 and 2143. Using tools developed to prove these analogues, we give enumerations and generating functions for permutations which avoid 1243, 2143, and certain additional patterns. We also give generating functions for permutations which avoid ...

Classical pattern avoidance and occurrence are well studied in the symmetric group $\mathcal{S}_{n}$. In this paper, we provide explicit recurrence relations to the generating functions counting the number of classical pattern occurrence in the set of 132-avoiding permutations and the set of 123-avoiding permutations.

We show that the counting sequence for permutations avoiding both of the (classical) patterns 1243 and 2134 has the algebraic generating function supplied by Vaclav Kotesovec for sequence A164651 in The On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences.

We give an improved algorithm for counting the number of $1324$-avoiding permutations, resulting in $14$ further terms of the generating function, which is now known for all patterns of length $\le 50$. We re-analyse the generating function and find additional evidence for our earlier conclusion that unlike other classical length-$4$ pattern-avoiding permutations, the generating function does not have a simple power-law singularity, but rather, the number of $1324$-avoiding p...

We consider the problem of enumerating permutations with exactly r occurrences of the pattern 1324 and derive functional equations for this general case as well as for the pattern avoidance (r=0) case. The functional equations lead to a new algorithm for enumerating length n permutations that avoid 1324. This approach is used to enumerate the 1324-avoiders up to n=31. We also extend those functional equations to account for the number of inversions and derive analogous algori...

We study generating functions for the number of permutations on n letters avoiding 132 and an arbitrary permutation $\tau$ on k letters, or containing $\tau$ exactly once. In several interesting cases the generating function depends only on k and is expressed via Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind.

Non-crossing and non-nesting permutations are variations of the well-known Stirling permutations. A permutation $\pi$ on $\{1,1,2,2,\ldots, n,n\}$ is called non-crossing if it avoids the crossing patterns $\{1212,2121\}$ and is called non-nesting if it avoids the nesting patterns $\{1221,2112\}.$ Pattern avoidance in these permutations has been considered in recent years, but it has remained open to enumerate the non-crossing and non-nesting permutations that avoid a single p...
