Cross sections for the 3He(e,e'pp)n reaction were measured at an energy transfer of 220 MeV and three-momentum transfers q of 305, 375, and 445 MeV/c. Results are presented as a function of q and the final-state neutron momentum for slices in specific kinematic variables. At low neutron momenta, comparison of the data to results of continuum Faddeev calculations performed with the Bonn-B nucleon-nucleon potential indicates a dominant role for two-proton knockout induced by a ...

Experimental cross sections for the $^4He(e,e'p)X$ reaction up to a missing momentum of 0.632 GeV/$c$ at $x_B=1.24$ and $Q^2$=2(GeV/$c$)$^2$ are reported. The data are compared to Relativistic Distorted Wave Impulse Approximation(RDWIA) calculations for $^4He(e,e'p)^3H$ channel. Significantly more events in the triton mass region are measured for $p_{m}$$>$0.45 GeV/$c$ than are predicted by the theoretical model, suggesting that the effects of initial-state multi-nucleon corr...

We present a direct calculation of the cross section for the reaction 3He(e,e'p) including the radiation tail originating from bremsstrahlung processes. This calculation is compared to measured cross sections. The calculation is carried out from within a Monte Carlo simulation program so that acceptance-averaging effects, along with a subset of possible energy losses, are taken into account. Excellent agreement is obtained between our calculation and measured data, after a co...

We report on a search for a bound di-neutron by comparing electron-induced proton-knockout $(e,e'p)$ measurements from Helium-3 ($^3$He) and Tritium ($^3$H). The measurements were performed at Jefferson Lab Hall A with a 4.326 GeV electron beam, and kinematics of large momentum transfer $Q^2 \approx 1.9$ (GeV/$c$)$^2$ and $x_B>1$, to minimize contributions from non quasi-elastic (QE) reaction mechanisms. Analyzing the measured $^3$He missing mass ($M_{miss}$) and missing ener...

The $(e,e'p)$ reaction on $^{4}{He}$ nuclei was studied in kinematics designed to emphasize effects of nuclear short-range correlations. The measured cross sections display a peak in the kinematical regions where two-nucleon processes are expected to dominate. Theoretical models incorporating short-range correlation effects agree reasonably with the data.

The three-body photodisintegration of 3He has been measured with the CLAS detector at Jefferson Lab, using tagged photons of energies between 0.35 GeV and 1.55 GeV. The large acceptance of the spectrometer allowed us for the first time to cover a wide momentum and angular range for the two outgoing protons. Three kinematic regions dominated by either two- or three-body contributions have been distinguished and analyzed. The measured cross sections have been compared with resu...

Recent cross section (e,e'pN) short-range correlation experiments have clearly shown the strong dominance of tensor correlations for (e,e'p) missing momenta greater than the Fermi momentum; while recent D(e,e'p)n and 4He(e,e'p)t asymmetry experiments at low missing momentum have shown small changes from the free nucleon form factor. By doing asymmetry experiments as a function of missing momentum, these results can be linked together and observed as a change of sign in the me...

It is shown that the effects of the Final State Interaction (FSI) in the exclusive processes 3He(e,e'p)2H and 3He(e,e'p)(pn), can be successfully treated in terms of a Generalized Eikonal Approximation (GEA), based upon the direct calculation of the Feynman diagrams describing the rescattering of the struck nucleon. As a matter of fact, using realistic three-body wave functions corresponding to the AV18 interaction, the results of our parameter free calculation exhibits a ver...

New, high-precision measurements of the 3He(e,e'p) reaction using the A1 collaboration spectrometers at the Mainz microtron MAMI are presented. These were performed in antiparallel kinematics at energy transfers below the quasi-elastic peak, and at a central momentum transfer of 685 MeV/c. Cross sections and distorted momentum distributions were extracted and compared to theoretical predictions and existing data. The longitudinal and transverse behavior of the cross section w...

The differential and total cross sections for the d+p->3He+eta reaction have been measured at COSY-ANKE at excess energies of 19.5, 39.4, and 59.4 MeV over the full angular range. The results are in line with trends apparent from the detailed near-threshold studies and also agree with those from CELSIUS, though the present data have higher precision. While at 19.5 MeV the results can be described in terms of s- and p-wave production, by 59.4 MeV higher partial waves are requi...
