We study the radiative decay $\rho^{0}\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma$ within the framework of a phenomenological approach in which the contributions of $\sigma$-meson and $\omega$-meson intermediate states and of the pion-loops are considered. We conclude that the $\sigma$-meson amplitude provides the dominant contribution.

We study the radiative $\rho^0\to \pi^+\pi^-\gamma$ and $\rho^0\to \pi^0\pi^0\gamma$ decays and we calculate their branching ratios using a phenomenological approach by adding to the amplitude calculated within the framework of chiral perturbation theory and vector meson dominance the amplitude of $\sigma$-meson intermediate state. Our results for the branching ratios are in good agreement with the experimental values.

A consistent description of $\sigma(500)$ meson effects in $\rho^0\to\pi^0\pi^0\gamma$ and $\pi^+\pi^-\gamma$ decays is proposed in terms of reasonably simple amplitudes which reproduce the expected chiral-loop behaviour for large $m_{\sigma}$ values. For the neutral case, in addition to the well known $\omega$ exchange, there is an important contribution from the $\sigma(500)$ meson that is in agreement with recent experimental data. For the charged case, where the dominant ...

The experimental branching ratio for the radiative decay $\rho^{0}\to\pi^{+}+\pi^{-}+\gamma$ is used to estimate the coupling constant $g_{\rho\sigma\gamma}$ for a set of values of $\sigma$-meson parameters M$_{\sigma}$ and $\Gamma_{\sigma}$. Our results are quite different than the values of this constant used in the literature.

The complementarity between Chiral Perturbation Theory and the Linear Sigma Model in the scalar channel is exploited to study $\pi^0\pi^0$ production in $\rho$ and $\omega$ radiative decays, where the effects of a low mass scalar resonance $\sigma(500)$ should manifest. The recently reported data on $\rho\to\pi^0\pi^0\gamma$ seem to require the contribution of a low mass and moderately narrow $\sigma(500)$. The properties of this controversial state could be fixed by improvin...

We study the radiative decay $\phi\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma$ within the framework of a phenomenological approach in which the contributions of $\sigma$-meson, $\rho$-meson and $f_0$-meson are considered. We analyze the interference effects between different contributions and utilizing the experimental branching ratio for this decay we estimate the coupling constant $g_{\phi\sigma\gamma}$.

In an attempt to explain the latest experimental result about the branching ratio of $\omega\to \pi^0\pi^0\gamma$ decay we reexamine the decay mechanism of this decay in a phenomenological framework in which the contributions of VMD, chiral loops, $\sigma$-meson intermediate state amplitudes and the effects of $\omega-\rho$ mixing are considered. We conclude that in order to obtain the experimental value of the branching ratio $B(\omega\to \pi^0\pi^0\gamma)$ $\sigma$-meson am...

We study the $\omega\to\pi\pi\gamma$ decays by adding to the amplitude calculated within the framework of chiral perturbation theory and vector meson dominance the amplitude of $\sigma$-meson intermediate state. We estimate the coupling constant $g_{\omega\sigma\gamma}$ utilizing the experimental value of the $\omega\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma$ decay rate.

We study the effect of the sigma(600) and a_1(1260) resonances in the rho^0 -> pi^+ pi^- gamma decay, within the meson dominance model. Major effects are driven by the mass and width parameters of the sigma(600), and the usually neglected contribution of the a_1(1260), although small by itself, may become sizable through its interference with pion bremsstrahlung, and the proper relative sign can favor the central value of the experimental branching ratio. We present a procedu...

Using the close relationship between the low--energy constants of chiral perturbation theory and the chiral invariant interactions of the vector meson resonances with the pseudoscalar mesons, we investigate the process $\rho^0 \ra \pi^+ \pi^- \gamma$. Compared with the contribution from the pure bremsstrahlung mechanism, we find an enhancement of the decay rate near the endpoint of the photon energy spectrum. Such a particular shape of the differential decay rate has indeed b...

We calculate the branching ratio of omega --> pi^+ pi^- gamma decay in a phenomenological framework in which the contributions of VMD, chiral loops, sigma-meson intermediate state amplitudes and the effects of omega-rho mixing are considered. We conclude that the sigma-meson intermediate state amplitude and omega-rho mixing make substantial contribution to the branching ratio.
