In this paper, the effects of disorder on the dynamical quantum phase transitions (DQPTs) in the transverse-field anisotropic XY chain are studied by numerically calculating the Loschmidt echo after quench. We obtain the formula for calculating the Loschmidt echo of the inhomogeneous system in real space. By comparing the results with that of the homogeneous chain, we find that when the quench crosses the Ising transition, the small disorder will cause a new critical point. A...

We study the the ground state fidelity and the ground state Loschmidt echo of a three site interacting XX chain in presence of a staggered field which exhibits special types of quantum phase transitions due to change in the topology of the Fermi surface, apart from quantum phase transitions from gapped to gapless phases. We find that on one hand, the fidelity is able to detect only the boundaries separating the gapped from the gapless phase; it is completely insensitive to th...

By analyzing the probability distributions of the Loschmidt echo (LE) and quantum work, we examine the nonequilibrium effects of a quantum many-body system, which exhibits an excited-state quantum phase transition (ESQPT). We find that depending on the value of the controlling parameter the distribution of the LE displays different patterns. At the critical point of the ESQPT, both the averaged LE and the averaged work show a cusplike shape. Furthermore, by employing th...

We use NMR quantum simulators to study antiferromagnetic Ising spin chains undergoing quantum phase transitions. Taking advantage of the sensitivity of the systems near criticality, we detect the critical points of the transitions using a direct measurement of the Loschmidt echo. We test our simulators for spin chains of even and odd numbers of spins, and compare the experimental results to theoretical predictions.

We address the computation of the Loschmidt echo in interacting integrable spin chains after a quantum quench. We focus on the massless regime of the XXZ spin-1/2 chain and present exact results for the dynamical free energy (Loschmidt echo per site) for a special class of integrable initial states. For the first time we are able to observe and describe points of non-analyticities using exact methods, by following the Loschmidt echo up to large real times. The dynamical free ...

We explain and exploit the random matrix formulation of the Loschmidt echo for the XX spin chain, valid for multiple domain wall initial states and also for a XX spin chain generalized with additional interactions to more neighbours. For models with interactions decaying as $e^{-\alpha \left\vert l-j\right\vert }/\left\vert l-j\right\vert ^{p+1}$, with $p$ integer or natural number and $\alpha \geq 0$, we show that there are third order phase transitions in a double scaling l...

For a central system uniformly coupled to a XY spin-1/2 bath in a transverse field, we explicitly calculate the Loschmidt echo(LE) to characterize decoherence quantitatively. We find that the anisotropy parameter $\gamma $ affects decoherence of the central system sensitively when $\gamma \in [0,1]$% , in particular, the LE becomes unit without varying with time when $\gamma =0 $, implying that environment-induced decoherence vanishes . Some other cases in which the LE is uni...

We analytically and numerically study the Loschmidt echo and the dynamical order parameters in a spin chain with a deconfined phase transition between a dimerized state and a ferromagnetic phase. For quenches from a dimerized state to a ferromagnetic phase, we find that the model can exhibit a dynamical quantum phase transition characterized by an associating dimerized order parameters. In particular, when quenching the system from the Majumdar-Ghosh state to the ferromagneti...

The nonanalyticity of the Loschmidt echo is termed as the dynamical quantum phase transitions. It extends the notion of quantum criticality to a nonequilibrium scenario, corresponding to the singular behaviour of the Loschmidt echo at critical times in quantum quenched systems. Here, we establish a new paradigm of dynamical phase transitions driven by a sudden change in the internal spatial correlations of the disorder potential in a low-dimensional disordered system. The Los...

We theoretically study the dynamics of a transverse-field Ising chain with power-law decaying interactions characterized by an exponent $\alpha$, which can be experimentally realized in ion traps. We focus on two classes of emergent dynamical critical phenomena following a quantum quench from a ferromagnetic initial state: The first one manifests in the time averaged order parameter, which vanishes at a critical transverse field. We argue that such a transition occurs only fo...
