Superconducting phase diagram of the extended Hubbard model supplemented with interaction and hopping terms exceeding nearest neighbour distance in range is analysed systematically at different band-filling and temperature values in a mean-field approximation. The obtained results clearly underline the importance of next-nearest neighbour terms in developing the main superconducting properties of the model system. In particular, the emergence of superconducting phases of different symmetry at a given point of the phase diagram, critical temperatures $T_c$, zero temperature gap amplitude values $\Delta_{0}$, $\Delta_{0}/T_{c}$ ratios, doping and temperature dependences are all strongly influenced by next-nearest neighbour contributions.

We study the square-lattice extended Hubbard model with on-site $U$ and nearest-neighbor $V$ interactions by exact diagonalization. We show that non-equilibrium quench dynamics can help determine the equilibrium phase transition boundaries, which agree with the calculations of fidelity metric, dynamical structure factor, and correlation function. At half filling, the phase diagrams in the strong-coupling regime include spin density wave and $d_{x^2-y^2}$-wave superconductivit...

The Hubbard model with local on-site repulsion is generally thought to possess a superconducting ground-state for appropriate parameters, but the effects of more realistic long-range Coulomb interactions have not been studied extensively. We study the influence of these interactions on superconductivity by including nearest and next-nearest neighbor extended Hubbard interactions in addition to the usual on-site terms. Utilizing numerical exact diagonalization, we analyze the ...

The enigma of unconventional superconductivity in doped cuprates presents a formidable challenge in the realm of condensed matter physics. Recent findings of strong near-neighbor attractions in one-dimensional cuprate chains suggest a new avenue for investigating cuprate superconductors. Consequently, we revisited the superconductivity in the extended Hubbard model at the mean-field level. Anticipating a prevalence of antiferromagnetic order due to strong local Coulomb repuls...

We examine the phase diagram of the extended Hubbard model on a square lattice, for both attractive and repulsive nearest-neighbor interactions, using CDMFT+HFD, a combination of Cluster Dynamical Mean Field theory (CDMFT) and a Hartree-Fock mean-field decoupling of the inter-cluster extended interaction. For attractive non-local interactions, this model exhibits a region of phase separation near half-filling, in the vicinity of which we find pockets of d-wave superconductivi...

We consider extended versions of the Hubbard model which contain additional interactions between nearest neighbours. In this letter we show that a large class of these models has a superconducting ground state in arbitrary dimensions. In some special cases we are able to find the complete phase diagram. The superconducting phase exist even for moderate repulsive values of the Hubbard interaction $U$.

We study spin-fluctuation-mediated superconductivity in the one-band Hubbard model. Higher order effective interactions in $U$ give rise to a superconducting instability which is very sensitive to changes in the Fermi surface topology arising as a function of doping and changes in the band structure. We show the superconducting phase diagram as a function of doping and next-nearest neighbor hopping in the limit of very small Coulomb interaction strength and discuss peculiarit...

The phase diagrams and superconducting properties of the extended Hubbard model with pair hopping interaction, i.e. the Penson-Kolb-Hubbard model are studied. The analysis of the model is performed for d-dimensional hypercubic lattices, including d=1 and d=$\infty$, by means of the (broken symmetry) Hartree-Fock approximations and, for d=$\infty$, by the slave-boson mean-field method. For d=1, at half-filling the phase diagram is shown to consist of nine different phases incl...

We present studies of an effective model which is a simple generalization of the standard model of a local pair superconductor with on-site pairing (i.e., the model of hard core bosons on a lattice) to the case of finite pair binding energy. The tight binding Hamiltonian consists of (i) the effective on-site interaction U, (ii) the intersite density-density interactions W between nearest-neighbours, and (iii) the intersite charge exchange term I, determining the hopping of el...

The leading superconducting instabilities of the two-dimensional extended repulsive one-band Hubbard model within spin-fluctuation pairing theory depend sensitively on electron density, band and interaction parameters. We map out the phase diagrams within a random phase approximation (RPA) spin- and charge-fluctuation approach, and find that while $B_{1g}$ ($d_{x^2-y^2}$) and $B_{2g}$ ($d_{xy}$) pairing dominates in the absence of repulsive longer-range Coulomb interactions $...

We have studied the extended Hubbard model with pair hopping in the atomic limit for arbitrary electron density and chemical potential. The Hamiltonian considered consists of (i) the effective on-site interaction U and (ii) the intersite charge exchange interactions I, determining the hopping of electron pairs between nearest-neighbour sites. The model can be treated as a simple effective model of a superconductor with very short coherence length in which electrons are locali...
