We present an overview of recent STAR results on strangeness production in p+p and heavy-ion collisions at RHIC. In both Cu+Cu and Au+Au collisions we show the centrality dependencies of bulk yield and mid-$p_{T}$ spectrum measurements with new comparisons to theory. The latest $v_{2}$ results for strange particles are presented and prospects for strangeness production in the low energy scan program will be outlined. Finally, we report new measurements of strangeness fragment...

We present here v$_2$ of identified and inclusive charged particles measured in the PHENIX central arm detector ($|\eta| < 0.35$) with respect to the reaction plane defined at $|\eta| = 3 \sim 4$ in 200 GeV Au+Au collisions. We find that v$_2$ increases from central to mid-central collisions reaching a maximum at about 50% of the geometric cross section and then decreases again for more peripheral collisions. As a function of transverse momentum in minimum-bias collisions, th...

The collective behavior of K$^0_\mathrm{S}$ and $\Lambda/\bar{\Lambda}$ strange hadrons is studied by measuring the elliptic azimuthal anisotropy ($v_2$) using the scalar-product and multiparticle correlation methods. Proton-lead (pPb) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 8.16 TeV and lead-lead (PbPb) collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC are investigated. Nonflow effects in the pPb...

We report the measurement of first (\textit {n} = 1) and higher order(\textit{n} = 2-5) harmonic coefficients ($v_{n}$) of the azimuthal anisotropy in the distribution of the particles produced in U+U collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ =193 GeV, recorded with the STAR detector at RHIC. The differential measurement of $(v_{n})$ is presented as a function of transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) and centrality. We also present $v_{n}$ measurement in the ultra-central collisions. These data ...

We present results on two-particle correlations using singly-strange particles ($\Lambda$, $\bar{\Lambda}$, $K^0_S$) and charged hadrons at intermediate p_T in d+Au and Au+Au collisions at RHIC. We discuss properties of the near-side correlation peak in both azimuthal and pseudo-rapidity space and separate jet-like contributions from the long-range pseudo-rapidity correlations (the ridge). In particular, we study the centrality and p_T dependence of the jet and ridge yields f...

We report measurements of the ratios of identified hadrons (pi,K,p,Lambda) in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV as a function of both collision centrality and transverse momentum (p_T). Ratios of anti-baryon to baryon yields are independent of p_T within 2<p_T <6 GeV/c indicating that, for such a range, our measurements are inconsistent with theoretical pQCD calculations predicting a decrease due to a stronger contribution from valence quark scattering. For both strang...

Detailed measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy (\v2) for identified charged particles are reported as a function of transverse momentum ($p_T$) and centrality for Au+Au collisions at \sqrtsNN = 200 GeV. The measurements indicate clear evidence for eccentricity and particle flavor scaling over a broad range of centralities and transverse rapidity $y_T$, indicating a hydrodynamical origin of the fine structure of azimuthal anisotropy at RHIC. The observed scaling supports th...

We present new results from the analysis of the E877 data taking run in 1995. Anisotropy in the azimuthal distribution of produced pions, kaons(K^+, K^-), lambda and antiprotons in Au+Au collisions at 11.5A GeV, are investigated . The data are compared with the predictions of the RQMD v2.3 event generator.

Strangeness production in Au+Au collisions has been measured via the yields of K+ and K- at 6, 8 AGeV and of anti-Lambda at 10.8 AGeV beam kinetic energy in experiment E917. By varying the collision centrality and beam energy, a systematic search for indications of new phenomena and in-medium effects under high baryon density is undertaken.

We investigate, in detail, the near-side associated yield as a function of centrality, $p_T$ and strangeness content in the trigger particle to look for possible flavor and baryon/meson differences.
