The neutrino spin flip radiative conversion processes nu_L -> nu_R + gamma^* and nu_L + gamma^* -> nu_R in medium are considered. It is shown in part that an analysis of the so-called spin light of neutrino without a complete taking account of both the neutrino and the photon dispersion in medium is physically inconsistent.

We discuss the transition radiation of a neutrino induced by its toroid dipole moment ($\tau$) when crossing the interface between two different media with different refraction indices. A neutrino of 1 MeV energy emits approximately $10^{-40}$ keV at $\tau=e\sqrt{2}G_F/\pi^2$. This effect depends very slightly on the neutrino mass and has a finite value in the massless limit.

We discuss a simple approach to solve the transport equation for high-energy neutrinos in media of any thickness. We present illustrative results obtained with some specific models for the initial spectra of muon neutrinos and antineutrinos propagating through a normal cold medium.

A brief overview of the electromagnetic properties of neutrinos is presented with a discussion of the most important fundamental aspects of the problem. Then using data from the ground-based reactor and solar neutrino-electron scattering experiments the best upper bounds on neutrino effective magnetic moments are discussed.

An electron motion in a dense neutrino flux is investigated. The Dirac equation exact solutions for the electron energy and wave function in this external environment are obtained. On this basis we predict the existence of an electromagnetic radiation that can be emitted by electrons in dense neutrino fluxes. We term this phenomenon "the spin light of electron in dense neutrino flux" ($SLe_{\nu}$). The main properties of the $SLe_{\nu}$ are studied. We argue that the $SLe_{\n...

A comprehensive introduction to the theory of the solar neutrino problem is given that is aimed at instructors who are not experts in quantum field theory but would like to incorporate these ideas into instruction of advanced undergraduate or beginning graduate students in courses like astrophysics or quantum mechanics, it is also aimed at the inquisitive student who would like to learn this topic on their own. The presentation assumes as theoretical preparation only that the...

This article provides a concise review of the problem of neutrino radiation from dense matter. The subjects addressed include quantum kinetic equations for neutrino transport, collision integrals describing neutrino radiation through charged and neutral current interactions, radiation rates from pair-correlated baryonic and color superconducting quark matter.

Solar neutrino observations coupled with the recent KamLAND data suggest that spin-flavor precession scenario does not play a major role in neutrino propagation in the solar matter. We provide approximate analytical formulas and numerical results to estimate the contribution of the spin-flavor precession, if any, to the electron neutrino survival probability when the magnetic moment and magnetic field combination is small.
