We illustrate the progress of covariant QCD phenomenology for the description of meson coupling constants and form factors. As examples, we discuss the $\rho\pi\pi$ and $\gamma \pi\rho$ interactions, the $\rho$ contribution to the pion charge radius, and the $\rho NN$ and $\omega NN$ vector and tensor coupling constants and form factors.

We analyse the pion electromagnetic, charged-current, and $\pi\gamma$ transition form factors at timelike momentum transfers $q$, $q^2=s\le 1.4$ GeV$^2$, using a dispersion approach. We discuss in detail the propagator matrix of the photon-vector-meson system and define certain reduced amplitudes, or vertex functions, describing the coupling of this system to final states. We then apply the derived analytic expressions to the analysis of the recent $e^+e^-\to \pi^+\pi^-$, $\t...

In order to calculate the rho - omega mixing we extend the chiral couplings of the low-lying vector mesons in chiral perturbation theory to a lagrangian that contains two vector fields. We determine the momentum dependence of the two-point function and recover an earlier result for the on-shell expression. We discuss the off-shell behaviour of the mixing.

We readdress the problem of finding a simultaneous description of the pion form factor data in e+e- annihilations and in tau decays. For this purpose, we work in the framework of the Hidden Local Symmetry (HLS) Lagrangian and modify the vector meson mass term by including the pion and kaon loop contributions. This leads us to define the physical rho, omega and phi fields as linear combinations of their ideal partners, with coefficients being meromorphic functions of s, the sq...

We calculate the momentum dependence of the $\rho-\omega$ mixing amplitude in a purely hadronic model. The basic assumption of the model is that the mixing amplitude is generated by $N{\bar{N}}$ loops and thus driven entirely by the neutron-proton mass difference. The value of the amplitude at the $\omega$-meson point is expressed in terms of only the $NN\omega$ and the $NN\rho$ coupling constants. Using values for these couplings constrained by empirical two-nucleon data we ...

We study the electromagnetic pion form factor and the VV - AA two point function for momenta -(600 MeV)^2 < q^2 < (600 MeV)^2 and we note the similarity between vector meson dominance and two versions of the free constituent quark model. The similarity is more striking when the momentum dependence of the quark mass is taken into account. We consider the implications for QCD and other theories.

Isospin violating mixing of \rho- and \omega-mesons is reconsidered in terms of propagators. Its influence on various pairs of (\rho^0,\omega)-decays to the same final states is demonstrated. Some of them, (\rho^0,\omega)\to\pi^+\pi^- and (\rho^0,\omega)\to\pi^0\gamma, have been earlier discussed in the literature, others (e.g., (\rho^0,\omega)\to\eta\gamma and (\rho^0,\omega)\to e^+e^-) are new in this context. Changes in partial widths for all the decay pairs are shown to b...

The momemtum dependence of the off-shell $\rho$-$\omega$ mixing amplitude is calculated through a two-quark loop diagram, using non-perturbative meson-quark vertex functions for the $\rho$ and $\omega$ mesons, as well as non-perturbative quark propagators. Both these quantities are generated self-consistently through an interlinked BSE-cum-SDE approach with a 3D support for the BSE kernel with two basic constants which are pre- checked against a wide cross section of both mes...

Based on the analysis of both Borel and Finite-Energy QCD sum rules, the inclusion of finite mesonic widths leads to a dramatic effect on the predictions for the momentum dependence of the rho-omega mixing matrix element. It is shown that the rho-omega mixing matrix element traditionally discussed in the literature, has the same sign and similar magnitude in the space-like region as its on-shell value. This contrasts the zero-width result where the mixing matrix element is ty...

Influence of the isospin-violating (\rho^0, \omega)-mixing is discussed for any pair of decays of \rho^0, \omega into the same final state. It is demonstrated, in analogy to the CP-violation in neutral kaon decays, that isospin violation can manifest itself in various forms: direct violation in amplitudes and/or violation due to mixing. In addition to the known decays (\rho^0, \omega)\to\pi^+\pi^- and (\rho^0, \omega)\to\pi^0\gamma, the pair of decays to e^+e^- and the whole ...
