We present results of analyses of two-pion interferometry in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 7.7, 11.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 62.4 and 200 GeV measured in the STAR detector as part of the RHIC Beam Energy Scan program. The extracted correlation lengths (HBT radii) are studied as a function of beam energy, azimuthal angle relative to the reaction plane, centrality, and transverse mass ($m_{T}$) of the particles. The azimuthal analysis allows extraction of the eccentricity of the...

We present the first measurements of identified hadron production, azimuthal anisotropy, and pion interferometry from Au+Au collisions below the nominal injection energy at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) facility. The data were collected using the large acceptance STAR detector at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 9.2 GeV from a test run of the collider in the year 2008. Midrapidity results on multiplicity density (dN/dy) in rapidity (y), average transverse momentum (<pT>), parti...

We present the results of a systematic study of the shape of the pion distribution in coordinate space at freeze-out in Au+Au collisions at RHIC using two-pion Hanbury Brown-Twiss (HBT) interferometry. Oscillations of the extracted HBT radii vs. emission angle indicate sources elongated perpendicular to the reaction plane. The results indicate that the pressure and expansion time of the collision system are not sufficient to completely quench its initial shape.

Preliminary results are presented on high-pT inclusive neutral pion production in d+Au collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 200 GeV in the pseudo-rapidity range 0 < eta < 1. Photons from the decay pi0->gamma,gamma are detected in the Barrel electromagnetic calorimeter of the STAR experiment at RHIC. The analysis procedure is described in detail and the results are found to be in good agreement with earlier STAR findings and with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations.

In this paper, preliminary results are presented on high-$p_T$ inclusive neutral pion measurements in d-Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 200 GeV in the pseudo-rapidity range $0<\eta<1$. The photons of the decay $pi^0\to\gamma\gamma$ are detected in the Barrel Electromagnetic Calorimeter of the STAR experiment at RHIC. The analysis of this first BEMC hadron measurement is described in detail. The results are compared to earlier RHIC findings. Furthermore, the obtained $\...

High-statistics $\pi^{-}\pi^{-}$ HBT data for non-central Au + Au collisions at 1.23$A$ GeV, measured with HADES at SIS18/GSI, are presented. The three-dimensional emission source is studied in dependence on pair transverse momentum and centrality. A tilt of the source relative to the beam axis is observed. The spatial extension and the tilt magnitude of the source decrease with transverse momentum. The spatial extension decreases and the tilt magnitude increases going from c...

Two-pion correlation functions, measured as a function of azimuthal emission angle with respect to the reaction plane, provide novel information on the anisotropic shape and orientation of the pion-emitting zone formed in heavy ion collisions. We present the first experimental determination of this information, for semi-central Au+Au collisions at 2-6 AGeV. The source extension perpendicular to the reaction plane is greater than the extension in the plane, and tilt of the pio...

The influence of Bose-Einstein statistics on multi-particle production characterized for various systems and energies by the STAR collaboration provides interesting information about the space-time dynamics of relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC. We present the centrality and transverse mass dependence measurements of the two-pion interferometry in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 62.4 GeV and Cu+Cu collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 62.4 GeV and 200 GeV. We...

We investigate identical pion HBT intensity interferometry for central Au+Au collisions at 1.23A GeV. High-statistics $\pi^-\pi^-$ and $\pi^+\pi^+$ data are measured with HADES at SIS18/GSI. The radius parameters, derived from the correlation function depending on relative momenta in the longitudinal-comoving system and parametrized as three-dimensional Gaussian distribution, are studied as function of transverse momentum. A substantial charge-sign difference of the source ra...

We present a systematic study of charged pion and kaon interferometry in Au$+$Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{NN}}}$=200 GeV. The kaon mean source radii are found to be larger than pion radii in the outward and longitudinal directions for the same transverse mass; this difference increases for more central collisions. The azimuthal-angle dependence of the radii was measured with respect to the second-order event plane and similar oscillations of the source radii were found for p...
