We study gravitational absorption effects using effective on-shell scattering amplitudes. We develop an in-in probability-based framework involving plane- and partial-wave coherent states for the incoming wave to describe the interaction of the wave with a black hole or another compact object. We connect this framework to a simplified single-quantum analysis. The basic ingredients are mass-changing three-point amplitudes, which model the leading absorption effects and a spect...

In this manuscript, the modification of thermodynamic properties of Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m black holes in the presence of higher-order generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) have been investigated. We considered heuristic analysis versus the behavior of a particle that is absorbed by the black hole, and then, we studied the thermodynamic properties of the black holes such as temperature-mass, temperature-charge-mass, entropy, and heat capacity functions up ...

In this paper we consider the solution of a black hole with a global monopole in $f(R)$ gravity and apply the partial wave approach to compute the differential scattering cross section and absorption cross section. We show that in the low-frequency limit and at small angles the contribution to the dominant term in the scattering/absorption cross section is modified by the presence of the global monopole and the gravity modification. In such limit, the absorption cross section...

In this paper, employing the path integral method in the framework of a canonical description of a Schwarzschild black hole, we obtain the corrected inverse temperature and entropy of the black hole. The corrections are those coming from the quantum effects as well as from the Generalized Uncertainty Principle effects. Furthermore, an equivalence between the polymer quantization and the Generalized Uncertainty Principle description is shown provided the parameters characteriz...

We study the scattering of massive spin-half waves by a Schwarzschild black hole using analytical and numerical methods. We begin by extending a recent perturbation theory calculation to next order to obtain Born series for the differential cross section and Mott polarization, valid at small couplings. We continue by deriving an approximation for glory scattering of massive spinor particles by considering classical timelike geodesics and spin precession. Next, we formulate th...

We investigate the thermodynamics of Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole in the context of the generalized uncertainty principle. The corrections to the Hawking temperature, entropy and the heat capacity are obtained via the modified Hamilton-Jacobi equation. These modifications show that the GUP changes the evolution of Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole. Specially, the GUP effect becomes susceptible when the radius or mass of black hole approach to the order of Planck sc...

Quantum gravity has exciting peculiarities on the Planck scale. The effect of generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) to the entangled scalar/fermion particles' tunneling from a Schwarzschild black hole immersed in an electromagnetic Universe is investigated by the help of semi-classical tunneling method. The quantum corrected Hawking temperature of this black hole with an external parameter "a" modifies the Hawking temperature for the entangled particles.

Obtaining black hole solutions in alternative theories of gravity can be a difficult task due to cumbersome field equations that arise in many of such theories. In order to study the strong field regime in a model-free approach, one can consider deformed black hole solutions with additional parameters beyond mass, charge and angular momentum. We investigate the scattering and absorption of a massless scalar field by non-Schwarzschild black holes, considering the Johannsen and...

We investigate the effect of quantum correction on Hawking radiation for Schwarzschild black holes. We consider Hawking temperature and entropy to order G^2 and find that the area law of black holes should be modified. We think of Hawking radiation as tunneling and find that at certain frequency {\omega} the radiation spectrum of black holes can be pure blackbody spectrum. Therefore, it is possible to break down information conservation. In order to ensure information conserv...

The Generalized Uncertainty Principle (GUP), motivated by current alternatives of quantum gravity, produces significant modifications to the Hawking radiation and the final stage of black hole evaporation. We show that incorporation of the GUP into the quantum tunneling process (based on the null-geodesic method) causes correlations between the tunneling probability of different modes in the black hole radiation spectrum. In this manner, the quantum information becomes encryp...
