The string landscape suggests that the supersymmetry breaking scale can be high, and then the simplest low energy effective theory is the Standard Model (SM). We show that gauge coupling unification can be achieved at about 10^{16-17} GeV in the SM with suitable normalizations of the U(1)_Y. Assuming grand unification scale supersymmetry breaking, we predict that the Higgs mass range is 127 GeV to 165 GeV, with the precise value strongly correlated with the top quark mass and...

Some new physics beyond the Standard Model of particle physics, like Supersymmetry, Extra-dimensions etc., and their effect on the nature of different standard model phenomena are explored in this thesis. We discuss the power law scaling of the gauge, Yuakawa and quartic scalar couplings in the Universal Extra-Dimensional scenario assuming compactification on an $S^1/Z_2$ orbifold. We get a low unification scale around 30 TeV for a radius $R \sim 1 TeV^{-1}$. We show that the...

Strong dynamics constitutes one of the pillars of the standard model of particle interactions, and it accounts for the bulk of the visible matter in the universe. It is therefore a well posed question to ask if the rest of the universe can be described in terms of new highly natural four-dimensional strongly coupled theories. The goal of this brief summary is to provide, for the first time, a coherent overview of how new strong dynamics can be employed to address the relevant...

A novel algebraic topology approach to supersymmetry (SUSY) and symmetry breaking in quantum field and quantum gravity theories is presented with a view to developing a wide range of physical applications. These include: controlled nuclear fusion and other nuclear reaction studies in quantum chromodynamics, nonlinear physics at high energy densities, dynamic Jahn-Teller effects, superfluidity, high temperature superconductors, multiple scattering by molecular systems, molecul...

Unification of Gauge and Yukawa sectors of GUTs is obtained by searching for renormalization group invariant relations among the couplings of the both sectors which hold beyond the unification scale. This procedure singled out two supersymmetric GUTs, the finite and the minimal SU(5) models which, among others, were predicting successfully the top quark mass. The same procedure is currently extended in the soft supersymmetry-breaking sector of the theories, providing us with ...

A unification model for strong, electromagnetic, weak and gravitational forces is proposed. The tangent space of ordinary coordinate 4-dimensional spacetime is a submanifold of an 14-dimensional internal spacetime spanned by four frame fields. The unification of the standard model with gravity is governed by gauge symmetry in the internal spacetime.

In this talk, we introduce a new scenario of grand unified theory (GUT) with anomalous $U(1)_A$ gauge symmetry. Since generic interactions (including non-renormalizable interactions) are introduced, once we fix the symmetry of the theory, we can define the theory without O(1) coefficients. The number of parameters to determine the symmetry is just 11 or 12 integer parameters which are anomalous $U(1)_A$ charges(integer) for introduced multiplets. It is surprising that the GUT...

The determination of the most straightforward evidence for the existence of the Superworld requires a guide for non-experts (especially experimental physicists) for them to make their own judgement on the value of such predictions. For this purpose we review the most basic results of Super-Grand unification in a simple and clear way. We focus the attention on two specific models and their predictions. These two models represent an example of a direct comparison between a trad...

We examine the interplay of symmetry and topological order in $2+1$ dimensional topological phases of matter. We present a definition of the \it topological symmetry \rm group, which characterizes the symmetry of the emergent topological quantum numbers of a topological phase, and we describe its relation with the microscopic symmetry of the underlying physical system. We derive a general framework to characterize and classify symmetry fractionalization in topological phases,...

The search for a Unified description of all interactions has created many developments of mathematics and physics. The role of geometric effects in the Quantum Theory of particles and fields and spacetime has been an active topic of research. This paper attempts to obtain the conditions for a Unified Gauge Field Theory, including gravity. In the Yang Mills type of theories with compactifications from a 10 or 11 dimensional space to a spacetime of 4 dimensions, the Kaluza Klei...
