Calabi-Yau links are specific $S^1$-fibrations over Calabi-Yau manifolds, when the link is 7-dimensional they exhibit both Sasakian and G2 structures. In this invited contribution to the DANGER proceedings, previous work exhaustively computing Calabi-Yau links and selected topological properties is summarised. Machine learning of these properties inspires new conjectures about their computation, as well as the respective Gr\"obner bases.

One of the challenges of heterotic compactification on a Calabi-Yau threefold is to determine the physical $(\mathbf{27})^3$ Yukawa couplings of the resulting four-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=1$ theory. In general, the calculation necessitates knowledge of the Ricci-flat metric. However, in the standard embedding, which references the tangent bundle, we can compute normalized Yukawa couplings from the Weil-Petersson metric on the moduli space of complex structure deformations of...
We propose a machine-learning approach to study topological quantities related to the Sasakian and $G_2$-geometries of contact Calabi-Yau $7$-manifolds. Specifically, we compute datasets for certain Sasakian Hodge numbers and for the Crowley-N\"ordstrom invariant of the natural $G_2$-structure of the $7$-dimensional link of a weighted projective Calabi-Yau $3$-fold hypersurface singularity, for each of the 7555 possible $\mathbb{P}^4(\textbf{w})$ projective spaces. These topo...

We numerically study whether there exist nowhere vanishing harmonic $1$-forms on the real locus of some carefully constructed examples of Calabi-Yau manifolds, which would then give rise to potentially new examples of $G_2$-manifolds and an explicit description of their metrics. We do this in two steps: first, we use a neural network to compute an approximate Calabi-Yau metric on each manifold. Second, we use another neural network to compute an approximately harmonic $1$-for...

This paper begins to study the limiting behavior of a family of Hermitian Yang-Mills (HYM for brevity) metrics on a class of rank two slope stable vector bundles over a product of two elliptic curves with K\"ahler metrics $\omega_\epsilon$ when $\epsilon\to 0$. Here $\omega_\epsilon$ are flat and have areas $\epsilon$ and $\epsilon^{-1}$ on the two elliptic curves respectively. A family of Hermitian metrics on the vector bundle are explicitly constructed and with respect to t...

We present closed form expressions for the ranks of all cohomology groups of holomorphic line bundles on several Calabi-Yau threefolds realised as complete intersections in products of projective spaces. The formulae have been obtained by systematising and extrapolating concrete calculations and they have been checked computationally. Although the intermediate calculations often involve laborious computations of ranks of Leray maps in the Koszul spectral sequence, the final r...

The first part of this paper discusses general procedures for finding numerical approximations to distinguished Kahler metrics, such as Calabi-Yau metrics, on complex projective manifolds. These procedures are closely related to ideas from Geometric Invariant Theory, and to the asymptotics of high powers of positive line bundles. In the core of the paper these ideas are illustrated by detailed numerical results for a particular K3 surface.

We describe four algorithms for neural network training, each adapted to different scalability constraints. These algorithms are mathematically principled and invariant under a number of transformations in data and network representation, from which performance is thus independent. These algorithms are obtained from the setting of differential geometry, and are based on either the natural gradient using the Fisher information matrix, or on Hessian methods, scaled down in a sp...

We present a collection of explicit formulas for the minimum volume of Sasaki-Einstein 5-manifolds. The cone over these 5-manifolds is a toric Calabi-Yau 3-fold. These toric Calabi-Yau 3-folds are associated with an infinite class of 4d N=1 supersymmetric gauge theories, which are realized as worldvolume theories of D3-branes probing the toric Calabi-Yau 3-folds. Under the AdS/CFT correspondence, the minimum volume of the Sasaki-Einstein base is inversely proportional to the ...

We develop an iterative method for finding solutions to the hermitian Yang-Mills equation on stable holomorphic vector bundles, following ideas recently developed by Donaldson. As illustrations, we construct numerically the hermitian Einstein metrics on the tangent bundle and a rank three vector bundle on P^2. In addition, we find a hermitian Yang-Mills connection on a stable rank three vector bundle on the Fermat quintic.
