We have discovered four AGN in the ROSAT all-sky-survey data with very steep X-ray spectra. We apply several models to these X-ray spectra with emphasis on warm absorber models which give an adequate description of the data. We report the discovery of RX J2317.8-4422 in an extremely low X-ray flux state by the Neil Gehrels Swift observatory in 2014 April/May. In total, the low-energy X-ray emission dropped by a factor 100. We have carried out multi-wavelength follow-up observations of this Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxy. Variable gamma-ray emission has been discovered in five Radio-loud Narrow Line Seyfert 1 (NLSy1) galaxies by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) onboard the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope. We present an optical and X-ray study of the quasar QSO 0117-2837. It exhibits an interesting combination of optical and X-ray properties: Despite its extremely steep observed X-ray spectrum (Gamma_x ~ -4 when fit by a simple powerlaw), its Balmer lines are fairly broad. A two-component Gaussian fit to H_beta yields FWHM_{Hbeta, broad} ~ 4000 km/s, and places QSO 0117-2837 in the `zone of avoidance' in the FWHM_{Hbeta}-Gamma_x diagram. It is arguably in the X-ray regime that Narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1s) exhibit the most extreme behaviour. Spectral complexity, rapid and large amplitude flux variations, and exceptional spectral variability are well known characteristics. However, NLS1s are not eccentric, but form a continuous sequence with typical Seyfert 1 galaxies. We have conducted a new long-term multi-wavelength campaign on one of the most super- Eddington narrow-line Seyfert 1s (NLS1s) known, namely RX J0134.2-4258. In this first paper, we report deep simultaneous X-ray observations performed by XMM-Newton and NuSTAR in 2019-12-19, during which RX J0134.2-4258 was fortuitously at one of its lowest X-ray flux states. We report on multi-wavelength observations of the X-ray transient Narrow Line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxy WPVS 007. The galaxy was monitored with Swift between October 2005 and July 2013, after it had undergone a dramatic drop in its X-ray flux earlier.
