We discuss $(\pi^0,\eta,\eta')\to\gamma^*\gamma$ transition form factors using the light-front quark model. Our discussion includes the analysis of the mixing angles for $\eta-\eta'$. Our results for $Q^2 F_{(\pi^0,\eta,\eta')\to\gamma^*\gamma}(Q^2)$ show scaling behavior for high $Q^2$ consistent with pQCD predictions.

We investigate the possibility to constrain the pion distribution amplitude from the gamma* gamma* -> pi transition. For a surprisingly large range in the two photon virtualities we find that the transition form factor is essentially independent of the distribution amplitude. This in turn entails a parameter-free prediction of QCD. The gamma* gamma* -> eta, eta' form factors are also briefly discussed. We estimate that experimental studies might be feasible at the existing e+...

We study the reaction e+e- --> e+e- eta_c, eta_c --> K_S K+- pi-+ and obtain eta_c mass and width values 2982.2+-0.4+-1.6 MeV/c^2 and 31.7+-1.2+-0.8 MeV, respectively. We find Gamma(eta_c --> gamma gamma)B(eta_c --> K anti-K pi)=0.374+-0.009+-0.031 keV, and measure the gamma gamma* --> eta_c transition form factor in the momentum transfer range from 2 to 50 GeV^2. The analysis is based on 469 fb-1 of integrated luminosity collected at PEP-II with the BABAR detector at e+e- ce...

We study the transition form factors of the pesudoscalar mesons ($\pi,\eta$ and $\eta^{\prime}$) as functions of the momentum transfer $Q^2$ within the light-front quark model. We compare our results with the recent experimental data by CELLO, CLEO, BaBar and Belle. By considering the possible uncertainties from the quark masses, we illustrate that our predicted form factors can fit with all the data, including those at the large $Q^2$ regions.

We study the electromagnetic and meson-photon transition form factors of light pseudoscalar mesons from the perturbative QCD (pQCD) approach. In order to include the soft transversal degree of freedom of partons inside hadrons, we introduce the intrinsic transversal momentum distributions (iTMDs), accompanying to the light-cone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs) which depict the longitudinal nonperturbative dynamics of an energetic meson. The main motivations of this work are th...

In this thesis we discuss a rational and data-based description of the single- and double-virutal transition form factors of the lightest pseudoscalar mesons. We obtain an accurate description of these in the spacelike and low-energy timelike regions. The phenomenological applications are wide. Among them, we discuss, the eta-eta' mixing, the rare pseudoscalar decays into a lepton pair and the pseudoscalar-pole contribution to the hadronic light-by-light part of the anomalous...

The $\gamma \gamma^\ast \to \eta_{c,b}$ transition form factors are computed using a continuum approach to the two valence-body bound-state problem in relativistic quantum field theory, and thereby unified with equivalent calculations of electromagnetic pion elastic and transition form factors. The resulting $\gamma \gamma^\ast \to \eta_c$ form factor, $G_{\eta_c}(Q^2)$, is consistent with available data: significantly, at accessible momentum transfers, $Q^2 G_{\eta_c}(Q^2)$ ...

We report on our progress toward the computation of the $\pi^0$, $\eta$ and $\eta^{\prime}$ transition form factors using staggered quarks on $N_f=2+1+1$ gauge ensembles generated by the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal collaboration. These form factors are essential ingredients to evaluate the pseudoscalar-pole contributions to the hadronic light-by-light scattering in the muon $g-2$. Preliminary results for the pseudoscalar-pole contributions are presented, at finite lattice sp...

The charge and transition form factors of pion ($F_\pi$, $F_{\pi\gamma}$, and $F_{\pi\gamma^*}$) are studied with the light-front quark model. We find that our results for $F_\pi$ and $F_{\pi\gamma}$ agree very well with experimental data. Furthermore, the decay constants of $\eta$ and $\eta'$ are evaluated. We also calculate $F_{\eta\gamma}$ and $F_{\eta'\gamma}$ and compare with the experimental data.
