The $\omega$-meson photoproduction, $\gamma+p\to p+\omega$, is studied in the framework of a model, containing $\pi$-meson exchange in t-channel and nucleon-exchange in s- and u-channels. Considering both $\omega NN$-coupling constants in the region of time-like meson four momenta as the free parameters, we find different sets of solutions for these constants from the existing data on the t-dependence of the differential cross sections, $d\sigma(\gamma+p\to p+\omega)/dt$, in ...

The omega production in nucleon-nucleon collisions is described through the decay of intermediate nuclear resonances. Close to threshold the pp --> pp omega cross section is dominated by the off-shell production of omega mesons with masses far below the physical omega mass of 782 MeV. A crucial role plays thereby the N^*(1535) resonance. Due to a strong N omega decay mode this resonance leads to off-shell contributions which are in the vicinity of the threshold about one orde...

The production of $\omega$ mesons in the $pd \to{}^3$He$ \omega$ reaction has been studied at two energies near the kinematic threshold, $T_p=1450$ MeV and $T_p=1360$ MeV. The differential cross section was measured as a function of the $\omega$ cm angle at both energies over the whole angular range. Whereas the results at 1360 MeV are consistent with isotropy, strong rises are observed near both the forward and backward directions at 1450 MeV. Calculations made using a two-s...

We analyze near-threshold cross section data for the reaction pp->pp phi published by the DISTO collaboration and recent, still preliminary results presented by the ANKE Collaboration. We formulate a procedure to evaluate the OZI ratio at low energies by taking into account corrections from the kinematics and the final-state interaction. Combining the new data with the few measurements available at higher energies we give a limit for the OZI rule violation and estimate the po...

We discuss the possibility to study the in-medium changes of the properties of the omega meson in reactions on ordinary nuclei with elementary electromagnetic probes. We present a tree-level calculation of the elementary gamma p -> omega p process which is extended to describe also the photoproduction of medium-modified omega mesons in nuclear matter. Using a semi-classical transport approach we obtain results for e+e- and pi0 gamma photoproduction off heavy nuclei in the inv...

The investigation in the work of the reaction electron-positron to omega and pi0 mesons in the 3P0 nonrelativistic quark model reveals that the reaction electron-positron to omega and pi0 mesons process at the energy region from the omega and pi mesons threshold to 2.0 GeV is dominated by the two-step process in which the primary quark-antiquark pair first forms rho and rho' mesons and then the vector mesons decay into omega and pi. With rho(1450) and rho(1700) mainly in 2S a...

The phi pi+ pi- production in p pbar annihilation at rest is strongly enhanced by a two step mechanism with intermediate K Kbar pi pi states. The relative yield of the phi production due to the resonant final state interaction decreases with increasing total energy of the p pbar system.

The role of two step mechanisms in the OZI rule violation in NNbar annihilation at low energies is reviewed. The full calculation of two-meson doorway mechanisms shows that the off-mass-shell contributions are important. Moreover, for the (phi pi0) and (phi rho) annihilation channels three-meson doorway contributions are non-negligible and improve agreement with the data. A significant enhancement of phi production is found in the resonant rescattering mechanisms p pbar -> pi...

Vector meson photoproduction and electroproduction have been suggested as a tool to find or confirm the nucleon resonances. In order to extract more reliable informations on the nucleon resonances, understanding the non-resonant background is indispensable. We consider final state interactions in omega photoproduction as a background production mechanism. For the intermediate states, we consider nucleon--vector-meson and nucleon-pion channels. The role of the final state inte...

The results of a measurement of the ratio R = Y(phi pi+ pi-) / Y(omega pi+ pi-) for antiproton annihilation at rest in a gaseous and in a liquid hydrogen target are presented. It was found that the value of this ratio increases with the decreasing of the dipion mass, which demonstrates the difference in the phi and omega production mechanisms. An indication on the momentum transfer dependence of the apparent OZI rule violation for phi production from the 3S1 initial state was...
